How can I estimate the amount of transfer I require?

Transfer (or bandwidth) is the amount of data that your site sends out each month. Data is most often sent out by the server to your website visitors, so the amount of people that visit your site is a big influence.

Another factor is the amount of large files your visitors may download. Large music, video, or other file downloads can use the transfer quickly.

The majority of people that don't place large files on their websites (and don't wish to in the future), and don't have a huge amount of visitors each day, can usually get by with the Small or Standard plans. The 2000MB of transfer provided by the Standard plan is normally enough for around 250 - 1000 visitors per day.

If the site is especially large, popular, or contains multimedia files - our Business and Multimedia plan is more appropriate. This larger plan allows the room to grow that businesses demand.

The amounts of transfer and disk space included in the Business and Multimedia plan are suitable for placing large files on your site to enrich your visitors' experience.
